Westworld season 4 out now!

Published by Hellenic Moon on

Westworld season 4 just came out on HBO Max. For those who don’t know, this show is HBO’s follow-up to Game of Thrones. Westworld is a pretty confusing show if you don’t follow carefully, starting in one direction amd eventually going in a completely different direction. In the show there is a kind of adult theme park run by a company called Delos Inc. (which used to be called Argos Initiative).

People can pay to go to this theme park and live out all kind of fantasies including killing human-looking robots put there as toys. The interesting thing about the choice of names for the company behind all this is that Delos is a sacred island from ancient Greece, the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. Delos was so special as a holy place that a law was passed that nobody was allowed to die there, which ties into themes of Westworld that include people trying to cheat death.

Argos is also a name from Greek mythology, linked to the story of Jason & the Argonauts. These could all be hints to sub-themes that will play out in the background that you might only notice if you are aware of them.

Watch the tailer for Westworld season 4 below, followed by a recap of Seasons 1-3 (which includes spoilers):
