Eros – God of Love
Roman name : Cupid
Eros is one of the most famous and influential gods in Greek mythology. He is the god of love, desire, passion, and sexual attraction. He is also known as Cupid in Roman mythology, and as Amor in Latin. He is the son of Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love, and either Zeus, the king of the gods, or Ares, the god of war. He is often depicted as a winged boy or a handsome youth carrying a bow and a quiver of arrows.
Eros has two types of arrows: one made of gold, which causes irresistible love, and one made of lead, which causes aversion and hatred. He uses these arrows to inspire love or hate in mortals and gods alike, sometimes for fun and sometimes for revenge. He is also capable of falling in love himself, as shown by his famous story with Psyche, a beautiful princess who became his wife. The story of Psyche & Eros went on to inspired Disney’s Beauty & the Beast.
Eros has a dual nature in Greek mythology. On one hand, he is a primordial god who emerged from Chaos, the original state of the universe, along with Gaia (Earth) and Tartarus (the Abyss). He is a cosmic force that drives creation and life. He is also associated with Eros (Love), one of the four original elements that make up the soul in Plato’s philosophy. On the other hand, he is a playful and mischievous god who serves as Aphrodite’s companion and assistant. He is a personal deity who intervenes in human affairs and relationships.
Eros was worshipped throughout Greece and beyond. He had many temples and altars dedicated to him, where people offered sacrifices of flowers, fruits, or animals. He was also honored in some festivals and rites, such as the Aphrodisia in Athens or the Erotidia in Thespiae. He was usually portrayed as a nude or semi-nude boy or youth with wings, holding a bow and arrows. He was often accompanied by his symbols or attributes, such as a torch, a heart, a dove, or a rose.
Eros is a fascinating and appealing god who represents many aspects of human emotion and experience. He is a symbol of love and desire that can be both creative and destructive. He is a master of manipulation and persuasion who can influence anyone’s feelings. He is a lover and a husband who cherishes his partner. He is a god who inspires us to seek and enjoy love in all its forms.

The Teams of Eros
If Eros supported modern sports teams, he would support:
The City of Love
Verona is called the city of love because Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet is based there. Add to that that the team is already named from Hellenic civilization and you have Eros’ favorite team ever.
Half-Brothers
Roma features Romulus and Remus on their crest, who were sons of Mars (Roman name for Ares).
As Eros was also a son of Ares, that would make Romulus and Remus his half-brothers, thus Eros would be a fan of Roma.
The Father of Eros
There are many versions of who the father of Eros was, but most people think it was Ares, so it seems logical Eros would support Aris Thessaloniki.
The City of Love
Paris, the city of lovers, a special place for Eros. PSG would be his favorite after Verona.
