Hades is one of the most mysterious and feared gods in Greek mythology. He is the brother of Zeus and the god of the underworld and the dead. He is also the ruler of the hidden wealth of the earth, such as minerals and precious metals.

Hades was born to the Titan parents Cronus and Rhea, who ruled the world before the Olympian gods. He was swallowed by Cronus along with his siblings, but was freed by Zeus, who became his king and ally. Hades then divided the world with his brothers Zeus and Poseidon, who got the sky and the sea, respectively.

Hades rarely left his dark and gloomy realm, where he presided over the fate of the souls of the dead. He was assisted by his faithful dog Cerberus, who guarded the entrance to the underworld, and his loyal servants Charon, who ferried the souls across the river Styx, and the Furies, who punished the wicked.

Hades had few friends and lovers, but he was deeply in love with his niece Persephone, the daughter of Demeter, the goddess of agriculture. He abducted her and made her his queen, but he had to share her with her mother for half of the year, according to a deal brokered by Zeus. This explained why the seasons changed, as Demeter mourned or rejoiced for her daughter.

Hades was worshipped as the lord of the underworld, who had absolute power over life and death. He was also respected as the giver of wealth, who bestowed riches and prosperity to those who honored him. He was usually depicted as a bearded man with a helmet, a cloak, a scepter, and a bident. His sacred animals were the black ram, the screech owl, and the snake. His Roman equivalent was Pluto, who shared many of his attributes and stories.

Hades is a fascinating god who represents both the horror and the hope of Greek mythology. He is a symbol of death, darkness, fear, but also of justice, generosity, and balance. He is revered as the king of the underworld and the judge of the dead, but also dreaded for his cold and ruthless actions. He is Hades, the god of the underworld and the dead in Greek mythology.

The story of Sisyphus, who tried to escape death and really angered Hades, who punished him.

The Teams of Hades

If Hades supported modern sports teams, he would support:
Arizona Diamondbacks

Sacred animal of Hades

Snakes were sacred to Hades, who is often wrongly associated with the ‘devil’. Hades was not evil in that sense. He ruled the underworld, and it’s a hard job. With 1 World Series title and 5 west division championships, Hades would have been fond of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Los Angeles Rams

Sacred animal of Hades

Black Rams were sacred to Hades, who would have been fond of the LA Rams, with 3 Super bowls (including pre-1970), 7 Conference championships, and 20 Division championships under their belt.

Juventus

Daughter of Zeus

Hades had passion for daughters of gods, since he married Persephone, daughter of Demeter. He probably would have had some feelings for the team named after Juventas (Roman name for Hebe), the daughter of Zeus.

Hellas Verona

Almost like Cerberus

The logo of Hellas Verona features 2 dogs, which would have reminded Hades of his loyal 3 headed guard-dog Cerberus.
