May 9 : World Migratory Bird Day & Aristotle

On World Migratory Bird Day, we remember Aristotle, father of Ornithology (the study of birds). Cornell Lab of Ornithology, one of the leading Ornithology labs of the world, marks this day with Global Big Day. It is a day to go out and spot birds and share it online. Watch this video about that:

Look for these 2 books below online, they should help give you a better understanding of Ornithology. The first book, Ornithology : From Aristotle to the Present gives you a history of the evolution of Ornithology over time, and if you really want to read about Aristotle’s Ornithology you could read his original text : The History of Animals, a 10 book series that laid the foundations of modern Biology (and Ornithology).
