April 21 : World Creativity and Innovation Day & Archimedes

April 21 is World Creativity and Innovation Day, and this might be one of the most important themes going forward in a post-Corona world. Now more than ever we need creativity and innovation to find new ways forward.

What better way to mark World Creativity and Innovation Day than by talking about Archimedes, one of the greatest inventors of all time? The man who was doing Calculus 2000 years before it was even invented. Read this blog post about Archimedes and math as a starting point to watch many interesting videos about Archimedes.

We also have a group dedicated to Archimedes here, where you can join the discussion about his inventions and ideas. Archimedes ideas still influence the world today.

Another person worth mentioning today as a source of inspiration is Thales of Miletus. He is considered the world’s first scientist and his ideas revolutionized the world in his time. Here is a short video about him:
