KeymasterI can totally imagine people looking back and looking at modern religions and wondering how people could get so into it. They are so old fashioned even today, imagine in the future.
While on the subject of the weather, it was actually in Ancient Greece that Aristotle first turned Meteorology into a science of studying the weather, wrote a blog post about that here:

KeymasterIn those days people didn’t have TV and other forms of easy entertainment we have today. I guess looking at the stars and finding constellations was a way to pass time.

KeymasterWe still study Euclidean geometry to this day almost intact as it was. Abraham Lincoln was inspired by Euclid and had studied his works well. There is even a scene in Steven Spielbergs movie ‘Lincoln’ that Lincoln talks about Euclid. Watch the clip here:
There is a good clip on Euclid here:

KeymasterSpeaking of Orpheus, there is an ongoing musical at Broadway called HadesTown : http://www.hadestown.com.
This musical is a modern retelling of the story of Orpheus and Eurydice and won the Best Musical award among 8 Tony Awards (the top award for Broadway musicals). Broadway is currently paused due to CoronaVirus, but it should start again by summer time at some point (we hope!)

KeymasterThe inventions of Archimedes would be amazing even by modern standards, but considering the time period he lived in, with no computers and machines, they are truly incredible. The museum has an entry for the Archimedes Screw also here : https://kotsanas.com
