Because of WHO and CDC recommendations on social distancing, and now the lock-down for Tarrant County and Dallas County, the Fort Worth Astronomical Society has cancelled our public star parties for at least the next few months.
Instead, we are going to start doing virtual star parties. Rather than have 100-250 people crowded together looking through telescopes, we will broadcast live viewing through telescopes using dedicated astronomical cameras.
Ask questions, get answers, see stuff you might not have been able to see before.
The location is from suburban skies, but soon we hope to be able to try from darker skies, if possible.
Wednesday’s star party went well – we’re going to try again for Comet ATLAS C/2019 V4 and a few other targets. Maybe we’ll be able to get the tail of the comet tonight!
